Here are a little review of "the afternoon when I met Bill Gates":) some pictures and 2 pieces of video here and here (no sound, sorry!)
Wednesday, november 17, Bill Gates concluded a one-day trip to France by giving an interview in front of about 800 students, in ENSAM school, Paris. The public consisted mostly of members of "junior entreprises", studying in engineering, business or communication schools.
A student and a consultant from Altran drove the interview. They asked Bill Gates about the reasons of his success, the current challenges Microsoft has to face, and finally what he thinks we'll see in the future. The interviewers weren't too much serious, and that was a good thing. Bill Gates was funny too. For example, we were shown a piece of video in which he and a team of microsoft are acting very strangely.
Obviously, he's used to answering such questions, he was asked about his main competitors, like Apple, Google and Linux.
His voice is not particularly impressive (pitchy would be exagerated, but...) but what stroke me was his enthusiasm and his real passion for his job, for what he has been doing for 30 years.
As far as I'm concerned, it was really impressive to see him for real (I'm afraid I was far away from him and couldn't just touch him!!...), to listen to him, because of its success as a self-made man and because of what he achieved with Microsoft.
A very nice experience!
